My first experience… I have only one experience that really happened to me, and that is what I
want to share. That was during lockdown. Yeah, 2020. So this was, though normally right from
time, I don’t visit a male friend at home I don’t go out, but that time because I travelled to Ibadan
with my cousin, I had the opportunity to visit a male friend; I went to visit him then, I could
remember vividly I didn’t even tell my cousin this was where I was going, because I met this
person not quite long I don’t know much about him.
Because he has been demanding for a visit, but I would always say I don’t visit a male and I was
like we can go and hang out visit a mall but go to a guy’s house is not what I do from home. So, I
don’t know what really made me later went for the visitation on that day… maybe because they
were doing this, is it Ramadan… Salah…
The guy happens to be a Muslim so he invited me for the salah this thing, but getting to I went to
his place getting there he was the only one at home that day, so when I entered I had to ask where
are your people he said his parent is not around that they will soon come back maybe they went
for salah break or something, and I said okay o, then we started gisting, like from there we
started watching movie, not quite long I started noticing that he went outside I don’t know he
went to lock the main gate, the house was fenced…
Not knowing he went to lock the outside gate, there is no security so he went to lock the outside
gate so that was the sitting room gate the next thing I heard he served me with, like normal he
served me with drinks I don’t like someone and another thing is I used to be very observant when
it comes I don’t want anyone to open drinks for me, I make sure I opened the drinks myself, I
opened the drinks it was, I don’t take alcohol it was juice I drank it from there to cut the story
short sha we started gisting, not quite long I started seeing that hand was moving towards me and
I was like No you have to stop this, to cut the story short, next thing was, pushing me towards the
door side like trying to hold me like holding me in a way that I don’t have the strength to get
myself again I was so shock at that moment the next thing is crying and pleading please… or let

me be going to my house, not knowing he has already shut everything, I don’t even know where
the power and the strength came from, the next thing I saw was, he just tore my belt because I
was on trouser…
So, he tore my belt, he just cut the belt into two I don’t just know where the strength come from
but when he was dragging me I was also dragging myself the next thing I fell down and he was
still dragging me on the floor the next thing I hold the chair I just see one Iron close to their Tv I
just use that Iron that day to rescue myself it was only God that intervened and I told him if he
did not go and open the door I will just break everything in this house and spoil everything and
later he said okay please, he started begging he said he will go and open the gate, I said go and
open the gate first he did not open the gate he just cajoled me to drop that thing as I just dropped
it he started another action again, I was just forced to force myself I just end up going outside
without doing anything that day and I saw a woman passing by I started screaming please help
please help…
And the guy was like ma no o don’t mind her o we are just joking she is just joking but the
woman saw me crying and she was just like how can someone be joking for…
And Nigerians they will be like I’m passing bye I just see people “why will you go into his
gate?”, if two of you did not have agreement you will not enter his gate, and I started calling that
woman crying praying that this is my first time I did not know that it’s not that I’ve known him
for long that…
And the man later, the woman later turned back and listen to how I’m saying that even her
daughter will not experience something like this, the woman was like when you know you guys
are not fighting why is she now shedding tears? Okay open the gate the woman now said okay,
open the gate if you know there is nothing…
That was how I found myself outside that day and ever since then, no, the following day the guy
came to… because he knows where I’m working then, then I’m working in one place he started
calling. I sha thank God that I rescued myself … because to even get home and tell my cousin
and people were working, so embarrassing so I cannot even say that I just go and hang out make
sure my face dey okay small before going back home that day and I bought water to wash my
face everything, I shaa make sure I’m okay, so even for now I’ve not shared this thing before
because when I got home sef to even say it
